American clairvoyant Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) started out as a holistic healer, providing accurate diagnoses and treatments while in a trance. He later made predictions about the world at large, and through the years generated an archive of some 14,000 readings. His long-time secretary Gladys Davis Turner recorded most of these sessions on paper. Today, the transcripts are housed at the Cayce Library in Virginia Beach.
Among the documents are specific forecasts for catastrophic shifting within the Earth's crust, which Cayce made long before the theory of plate tectonics. In the 1920's, he correctly predicted two earthquakes in the Pacific Ocean Years later, identified an ancient river running across the Sahara Desert, which scientists recently verified with satellite imaging.
Edgar Cayce
Regarding the tectonic shifts, Cayce said during a reading on January 19, 1934:
"The earth will be broken up in the western portion of America. The greater portion of Japan must go into the sea. The upper portion of Europe will be changed as in the twinkling of an eye. Land will appear off the east coast of America.
There will be upheavals in the Arctic and in the Antarctic that will make for the eruption of volcanoes in the Torrid areas, and there will be shifting then of the poles - so that where there has been those of a frigid or the semi-tropical will become the more tropical, and moss and fern will grow. And these will begin in those periods in '58 to '98, when these will be proclaimed as the periods when His light will be seen again in the clouds. "
On August 13, 1941, he said:
"In the next few years lands will appear in the Atlantic as well as in the Pacific. And what is the coast line now of many a land will be the bed of the ocean. Even many of the battle fields of the present will be ocean, will be the seas, the bays, the lands over which the NEW order will carry on their trade as one with another.
Portions of the now east coast of New York, or New York City itself, will in the main disappear. This will be another generation, though, here; while the southern portions of Carolina, Georgia - these will disappear. This will be much sooner.
The waters of the lakes (Great Lakes) will empty into the Gulf (of Mexico), rather than the waterway over which such discussions have been recently made (St. Lawrence Seaway). It would be well if the waterway were prepared, but not for that purpose for which it is at present being considered.
Then the area where the entity is now located (Virginia Beach) will be among the safety lands, as will be portions of what is now Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, and much of the southern portion of Canada and the eastern portion of Canada; while the western land - much of that is to be disturbed - in this land - as, of course, much in other lands.
The earth will be broken up in many places. The early portion will see a change in the physical aspect of the west coast of America. There will be open waters in the northern portion of Greenland. There will be new lands seen off the Caribbean Sea and dry land will appear - South America shall be shaken from the uppermost portion to the end, and in the Antarctic off Tierra Del Fuego, land, and a strait with rushing waters."
Many of these events were expected to happen in the 20th half of the century, an apparently incorrect time frame. As Cayce was not specific, perhaps he meant to say they would unfold between 2058 and 2098. He also had much to say about the mythological continent Atlantis in several readings. In 1938, he predicted that:
A portion of the temples may yet be discovered under the slime of ages and sea water near Bimini…Expect it in ’68 or ’69 — not so far away.
Indeed, in 1968, the so-called Bimini Road was first spotted by aircraft off the Yucatan peninsula. Several underwater expeditions trolling the sea near Cuba and adjacent areas have also uncovered possible ruins on the seafloor. Unfortunately, far too many of the findings have not been fully divulged to the public.
Alleging that the survivors of Atlantis stashed records in both the Yucatan and Ancient Egypt, Cayce predicted that a hidden archive would someday be found inside the left paw of the Sphinx. In the early 1990s, geologist Robert Schoch located what appeared to be a chamber in that very location using sonar equipment. However, Egyptian authorities prevented any further investigation into the matter, insisting no chambers or passageways lie within the monument. (For more on this subject, see Aliens Without Borders.)
According to Cayce, once humanity realizes a technologically advanced civilization existed thousands of years ago, a profound transformation of human consciousness will follow. In the new age to come, people will reject self-centeredness and material possessions, instead developing their psychic, intuitive capacity and connection to a higher power.
In 1958, a minister named David Young gave a ride to an elder of the Bear Clan, White Feather, who subsequently confided a prophecy about the world ending one day. It was referred to in Frank Waters classic Book of the Hopi, in 1961, but before that, Young had typed it up and circulated copies.
Here's the full text posted on Crystalinks:
"My people await Pahana, the lost White Brother, [from the stars] as do all our brothers in the land. He will not be like the white men we know now, who are cruel and greedy. we were told of their coming long ago. But still we await Pahana.
He will bring with him the symbols, and the missing piece of that sacred tablet now kept by the elders, given to them when he left, that shall identify him as our True White Brother.
The Fourth World shall end soon, and the Fifth World will begin. This the elders everywhere know. The Signs over many years have been fulfilled, and so few are left:
This is the First Sign: We are told of the coming of the white-skinned men, like Pahana, but not living like Pahana, men who took the land that was not theirs. And men who struck their enemies with thunder.
This is the Second Sign: Our lands will see the coming of spinning wheels filled with voices. In his youth, my father saw this prophecy come true with his eyes -- the white men bringing their families in wagons across the prairies.
This is the Third Sign: A strange beast like a buffalo but with great long horns, will overrun the land in large numbers. These White Feather saw with his eyes -- the coming of the white men's cattle.
This is the Fourth Sign: The land will be crossed by snakes of iron.
This is the Fifth Sign: The land shall be criss-crossed by a giant spider's web.
This is the Sixth sign: The land shall be criss-crossed with rivers of stone that make pictures in the sun.
This is the Seventh Sign: You will hear of the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it.
This is the Eight Sign: You will see many youth, who wear their hair long like my people, come and join the tribal nations, to learn their ways and wisdom.
And this is the Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of my people will cease.
These are the Signs that great destruction is coming. The world shall rock to and fro. The white man will battle against other people in other lands -- with those who possessed the first light of wisdom. There will be many columns of smoke and fire such as White Feather has seen the white man make in the deserts not far from here. Only those which come will cause disease and a great dying.
Many of my people, understanding the prophecies, shall be safe. Those who stay and live in the places of my people also shall be safe. Then there will be much to rebuild. And soon -- very soon afterward -- Pahana will return. He shall bring with him the dawn of the Fifth World. He shall plant the seeds of his wisdom in their hearts. Even now the seeds are being planted. These shall smooth the way to the Emergence into the Fifth World."
In South America, a small community of Q'ero Indians has also predicted the end of the Fourth World. These reclusive descendents of the Inca were discovered by anthropologist Alberto Villoldoin in Cuzco, Peru in 1949. The Q'ero believe the world is approaching the time of a universal mastay, or gathering. As in the case of the Hopi prophecy, cataclysmic events will precede the reintegration of the different races and cultures presently dispersed around "the four directions".
In 1139 A.D., St. Malachy, an Irish archbishop, was in Rome to meet with Pope Innocent II, who was undergoing a period of tribulation. The archbishop endeavored to console him, and one night had a dream in which he saw a list of future pontiffs, leading up to the end of the world. Although Malachy wrote down the list and gave it to Innocent, for some reason the document sat undetected in the Roman Archives until 1590. Most theologians dismiss it as a forgery, but doomsday trackers note that the current pope, Benedict XVI, is second to last on the list.
Rather than Christian names, the prophecy uses descriptive titles for the pontiffs. In Benedict's case, the designation "Glory of the Olives" doesn't appear to fit him, since he's Bavarian. However, his predecessor's title "Eclipse of the Sun" fit like a glove, since John-Paul II was born during a solar eclipse. Moreover, the first John-Paul, born in the diocese of Belluno (beautiful moon) is described on the list as "Half Moon". This pope served but one month, beginning with a half moon, then dying under mysterious circumstances a month later, with the next half moon.
The titles of Pius IX, Leo XIII and Pius X have also struck observers as being remarkably appropo. After Benedict, Malachy's list identifies one Petrus Romanus, or Peter the Roman, as the final pope, although he's not referred to exactly as a pope:
"In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. "
